After snapping up a tired beachside property, talented design duo Charlie Albone and Juliet Love transform their dated kitchen into a relaxing coastal haven with Caesarstone® Alpine Mist™.
The Kitchen Design
All renovation projects present challenges and as Charlie and Juliet explain, “One of the most challenging parts of this renovation for us was the thin footprint of the home and overcoming the dark feel. We decided to open up the space by removing an internal wall to create this light, spacious feel”.
“Caesarstone are synonymous with beautiful high-end stone products, and we wanted to use the best”
Juliet Love, interior designer and presenter
A new layout:
The couple change the existing kitchen layout to enhance the flow of the kitchen. “We changed the small L-Shape kitchen to a modern galley style kitchen with an island bench. The new layout makes it so much easier to move around the space”, says Juliet, “Along the back benchtops we have the hob and sink. We both wanted a sink that was practical and stylish, so we chose a double butler’s sink”.
Opting to include a kitchen island bench creates the space the couple needs for food prep and casual dining with friends and family. The design of the kitchen island maximises space and provides the perfect amount of room for stools and plenty of legroom when seated.
The Colour Palette:
For the colour palette Juliet says, “We chose a soft colour palette to evoke a laid-back coastal feel”. So, the cool grey of Caesarstone® Alpine Mist™ with its crisp white veins was ideal for their kitchen design style. “Alpine Mist™ really complements the white, blue and seafoam green”, explains Juliet.
The white veins of Alpine Mist™ create a beautiful connection to the surrounding white cabinetry. “We chose Porter’s Paints Chintz Grey for the kitchen island cabinetry to help define the island as a stand-out feature of the space” explains Juliet.

The Finishes:
“We chose stylish raw brass tapware and hardware to complement the polished look and feel of the Alpine Mist™ benchtops and for the splashback, we went for Ming Green marble fish scale tiles to complete the look”, says Juliet.

Design Tip:
Juliet continues the Caesarstone® Alpine Mist™ and white cabinetry into the living area TV unit to create a sense of flow between the spaces. By using the Caesarstone in multiple areas, Juliet says, “it gives a seamless, high-end feel. It really lightens up the room.”
