The Design

Sarah and George’s selection of materials and finishes infuse modernity while paying homage to the era of their 1940s home. For the back-run of benchtops, the couple pair the reflective beauty of Intense White™ with Classic White Matt Kinsman Kitchens’ Somersby shaker profile cabinetry, enhancing the overall size and feel of the open-plan space.

Sarah and George’s intentional inclusion of warm timber floors, black matt finishes and the dark tones of Bottega Oak provides a gentle contrast to the white bringing additional depth and character to their design.

With a vision to create the perfect space for entertaining, Sarah and George’s decision to extend the Intense White™ surfaces into the pantry ensures prospective owners not only have continuity in their colour palette but easy to clean and stain-resistant surfaces that retain their lustrous white colour long into the future.

Locating the ovens near the entry to the pantry and including a dishwasher ensures all the clutter, dirty dishes and meal prep are conveniently tucked away from guests, retaining the clean, spacious feel of the kitchen.

Sarah and George use Kinsman Kitchens’ new Black Glass Climber cabinets with finger touch operation and internal lighting to optimise the storage and functionality of the space.

For the island bench, Sarah and George use a natural stone reminiscent of the appeal of Caesarstone® Turbine Grey™. While both can achieve beautiful curves, there are notable differences to consider when deciding between natural stone and Caesarstone. Caesarstone never requires sealing and is proven to offer superior chip, crack and stain resistance for added peace of mind.

Using the island design layout with an adjoining pantry, Sarah and George optimise the footprint and functionality of their kitchen creating a spacious, clean and clutter-free space for entertaining.
