Caesarstone Publishes Inaugural ESG Report

Global surface manufacturer shares vision to create a greener and safer future for its employees, customers, partners and global community.

Nov 2021. Global surface manufacturer Caesarstone is proud to present its first Global Environment, Social, Governance (ESG) Report, created in accordance with The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG).

The ESG report is part of the company's ongoing efforts to act on environmental and social topics, illustrating their commitment to creating a greener and safer future for its employees, customers, partners and communities where they operate.

Caesarstone's ESG strategy is based on four main pillars: sustainable products, environmentally responsible production, health and safety and social responsibility:

  • Sustainable Products - Developing environmentally friendly products with a warranty.
  • Environmentally Responsible Production - Reducing carbon footprint, styrene emissions, water use, waste and increasing the use of renewable energy. In addition, logistics and supply chain processes will continue to undergo improvements. By 2025, the aim is to reduce energy use by 10%, recycle water & reduce its use by about 10% and to reduce air pollution levels by 5%.
  • Health & Safety - Health and safety is a top priority at Caesarstone. By creating a safer working environment, Caesarstone has reduced 72% loss time injuries over the past 3 years. The Master of Stone programme for fabricators started in 2019, and since then has expanded the program across several countries, such as the US, Canada, Australia, and rolling out progressively to Asia. The programme includes an online training centre aimed at helping with customers on the topics of Health & Safety, professional know-how and added value content for fabrication plant managers.
  • Social Responsibility – Caesarstone is committed to creating a positive impact across their value chain, including employees, suppliers, customers, and the communities they work in.

Caesarstone Southeast Asia Managing Director, Mr Phillip Goh, shared: “While we have been long committed to sustainability through continued innovation of our products and greener production processes, the report is an important milestone in our ESG journey in demonstrating our commitment to environment, health and safety practices. We are pleased to be one of the first in the stone industry to publish the report, and the framework built will help us accomplish our new ESG goals, and therefore a sustainable future for our company. We believe in taking care of our customers, employees, communities and environment while we grow, in Asia and globally, and we look forward to position Caesarstone as the leading sustainable manufacturer in the industry.”
